Luca's Surgery

So a few weeks ago we went to the children's Hospital in Calgary for a surgical consult for Luca, and we had good and bad news. The good news was that he only has to have surgery on his right foot, and that his left foot was doing great, and we only needed to continue doing stretching on it.
So his surgery is called a Right Tibialis tendon transfer and lengthening, its really hard to explain, but it doesn't involve breaking his bones only moving and reattaching tendons, and lengthening them as well. It will be a very painful surgery for him with 4-6 weeks of casts, and after wards a new brace to help keep the tendons in place. He wont be allowed and jumping or running for at least 3 months or more. So we will see how his recovery will go. I'm a little stressed , I don't want my baby to be in pain, but I know its whats best for him to have a better life in the long run. I sure do love him. He's one brave little boy

We also had an appt at the Health Unit for his prekindergarten shots. He screamed the whole way there while we were there, and I couldn't even hold him on my lap he was thrashing so much! there was no way in his mind that he was getting a needle. So the Health nurse helped me get a hold of him and she put the first needle in and he stopped crying and said. "oh that didn't hurt" . oh what a little turd he can be sometimes. but he sure does make me laugh!! he got the bear in the picture from the nurse for being so brave, and named him poky.

The Renovations Part 2

So here is the Kitchen all done. This is a picture taken from the living room doorway. I really do love it. My mom and dad and grant and I had a lot of fun re doing the Kitchen. It has been a long journey. I know my parents have sacrificed a lot to get everything done. now that we are done the upstairs levels. we are starting on the basement , for my sister Erin. This picture is standing by the fridge looking into the living room doorway
I couldn't really get a good picture of the tile work my mom did, the picture doesn't do it justice. My mom is so amazing and so talented. I love her vision , and all her hard work.

So here is the upstairs bathroom finally done. I love it sooooooo much!!! this picture I'm sitting in the tub taking the picture of the whole bathroom.

here is a close up of the amazing shower and bathtub.

I couldn't fit the whole tub in the picture. Once again I love the tile work my mom did.

Here is a Picture of our laundry room. I love our new washer and dryer. I love how relaxing it is to do laundry when you have a room that is complete and has wonderful storage.

Once again more tile work my mom did. I really do love her ideas and dedication to get everything done.

Next post i'll post some pictures of the rest of the house.

Our new House / Renovations

It sure has been a While but here is whats been going on. In november my mom and dad decided to buy a house on the south side of lethbridge, I think its about 45 years old but it sure is Beautiful. They have renovated the kitchen and 2 bathrooms, and will start renovating the basement soon for my sister Erin to live in. Here are some pictures of what has been happening the last 2 months. pretty soon we will all be done

Here is the Kitchen before & after (almost done) I'll post the finished product when the Tile is all Done. I sure am in awe of my parents, they have done everything by themselves , with a little help from Grant and I . I sure do love them.

Our Friend Joe, and His wife Krystle came to help us, As much as I would like to say that I have Muscles, They dont quite compare to the guys!!!

After the Kitchen demo, we started on the bathroom upstairs, it was reallly tiny, I had a hard time getting a good picture. Right behind the door there is a nice blue bathtub!!

We took out the wall in the next bedroom , to make a bigger bathroom. i'll post the picture of the finished bathroom next time.

Luca's surgery

So on June 4 Luca had to have surgery on his feet. He just grew to fast and his little feet just could not keep up with the correction that his feet were trying to do. (for those of you that don't know Luca was born with club feet) so Dr. Hurdle decided it was best to lengthen his achilles tendon he had 3 cuts to it on each leg, and then he was double casted. He was so brave, he wasn't scared at all. It helped that my brother Jim works in the O.R. , and he was there the whole time. He was a big comfort to me and Luca, and he was the first one to sign his new casts.
It has been a long road , full of no sleep, and a very frustrated child, but today Thursday June 18 he gets them off !! yeah!!
